RTS stops bus routes to RIT

Limited service available through RIT off-campus express

Gabrielle Plucknette-DeVito

The RIT Off-Campus Express will offer service between campus, the Hylan Drive Wegmans, and Walmart.

RTS will no longer provide bus service directly to campus. Students are encouraged to find alternate options. The new RTS routes are on their website.

Additional options exist for students, including:

RIT Off-Campus Express: The RIT Off-Campus Express will offer service between campus, the Hylan Drive Wegmans, and Walmart. Commuters must utilize the new RTS routes to connect with RIT services at the RTS Hylan Drive Wegmans and Walmart hubs. In addition, limited additional services of weekday-only shuttle runs between 7 a.m. – 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. will be available around the MCC Brighton, Rustic Village, and Applied Tech campus areas. These shuttles will have limited capacity and operate as first-come, first-served.

RTS Community Zone: The RIT Barnes and Noble location falls within the RTS Henrietta Community Zone, which allows a cost-per-trip bus ride through the new RTS On Demand service

RIT Parking and Transportation Website: You’ll find links to all Campus Shuttles and Parking Services as well as the TransLoc Rider app, which tracks all RIT Shuttles with real-time GPS.

We understand that the new routes may create some initial confusion. Therefore, we strongly encourage students to plan accordingly regarding fall commuting methods.
