Scientist and Evolution Advocate Discusses Science and Religion April 1 at RIT
P.Z. Myers presents The Irreconcilability of Science and Religion
P.Z. Myers, biologist, science blogger and prominent evolution advocate, will present his thoughts on evolution, creation science and the current science versus religion debate at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 1, in Webb Auditorium at Rochester Institute of Technology.
The Irreconcilability of Science and Religion will include a discussion of the current controversy over evolution and intelligent design and Myers’ thoughts on the basic incompatibility of scientific theory and values-based religious belief. The event is sponsored by the RIT Skeptics and RIT Atheists student groups.
Myers currently serves as an associate professor of biology at the University of Minnesota Morris and is the author of the science blog Pharyngula.com. Nature named Pharyngula one of the top blogs written by a scientist and Myers also won a 2005 Koufax Award for best expert blog.
