Share your views of diversity and equity on RIT’s campus

Aim is to measure how people of different backgrounds and identities experience our campus

At RIT, we are committed to ensuring an inclusive, engaging, and supportive environment for our students, faculty, staff, and administrators. Our campus comprises people who live, study and work here -- a collective that must thrive in an inclusive environment where all feel welcome.

If we are to build upon and improve our campus, we need you to tell us how we can ensure a stronger living, learning, and working environment. Hence, RIT is conducting a Diversity and Equity Campus Climate Survey of students, faculty, and staff to gather perceptions of our climate related to diversity and equity. We need your participation regardless of whether or not you have experienced discrimination or harassment. We will use the results of this survey to inform and improve support, policies, and practices at RIT. We will not use the information to investigate specific individuals or incidents.

Next week, you’ll receive an email to participate in the 2022 Diversity and Equity Campus Climate Survey. A third party will be administering the survey on RIT’s behalf and it will be available in English and ASL (video). The survey is confidential and will take about fifteen minutes to complete, but the results will serve us for years to come. The survey aims to measure how people of different backgrounds and identities experience our campus. The more students, faculty, and staff that participate, the deeper our understanding of our campus climate. This survey will guide programs, policies, and initiatives coming out of the Action Plan for Race and Ethnicity.

Please visit the Diversity and Equity Campus Climate website for additional information regarding the survey. Your feedback and participation are highly valued. We urge you to join us in this critical effort.

Sincerely,

David Munson, President

Ellen Granberg, Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs

Keith Jenkins, Vice President and Associate Provost for Diversity and Inclusion

Sandra Johnson, Senior Vice President Student Affairs

Jo Ellen Pinkham, Associate Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer
