Taiwanese choral and musicians open Taiwanese-American Heritage Week
Complimentary tickets available for RIT community members
Taiwanese-American Heritage Week opens with its annual spring concert, featuring the Taiwanese Choral Society of Rochester, at 3 p.m. April 29 in St. Mary’s Church at 15 St. Mary’s Place in Rochester.
Admission to the concert is $6 for the general public, $4 for children. RIT students, faculty and staff can receive complimentary tickets to the concert from Ken Hsu, professor of computer engineering, by contacting him at 585-475-2655 or kwheec@rit.edu. Tickets reserved through Hsu will be available at the door.
The concert features local artists and students from the Eastman School of Music, including conductor Yunn-Shan Ma, pianist Yueh-Chen Wang, soprano Hsin-Mei Chang, violinist Che-Han Tsai and clarinetist Yun-Chieh Hsieh. Selections will be performed in Taiwanese, Mandarin, Hakka, Ruikai and English.
