Third Annual Graduate Research Symposium is July 22

Diana Rhoten, co-founder and director of the social enterprise Startl, will be the keynote speaker at RIT’s Graduate Research Symposium in July.

More than 100 graduate students from Rochester Institute of Technology are expected to present their research activities at the third annual Graduate Research Symposium on July 22.

RIT’s Office of Graduate Studies is soliciting abstracts for talks and poster presentations. The abstract submission deadline is June 1. All presenters must be of graduate standing from any of the university’s eight colleges. Awards will be given out to students with outstanding presentations.

The July 22 research symposium will feature morning and afternoon sessions in Louise M. Slaughter Hall on the RIT campus. The symposium runs 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Diana Rhoten, co-founder and managing director of a new social enterprise Startl and the founder and director of the Knowledge Institutions and Digital Media and Learning programs at the Social Science Research Council, will deliver the keynote address. Startl aims to accelerate the growth, development and distribution of digital innovations for learning inside and outside the classroom—from kindergarten to college.
