Ticket Prices Reduced for RIT Community for Art Spiegelman Presentation
Graphic artist discusses career and comic book sub-culture on March 22
Ticket prices for the upcoming Art Spiegelman presentation at RIT on March 22 were lowered from $15 to $8 for RIT students, faculty and staff. Advance tickets are available by calling the Jewish Community Center, co-sponsors of the event, at 462-2000 or online at the JCC website.
The Pulitzer Prize-winning graphic novelist will share insights on his life as a comic book artist at 7:30 p.m. in Ingle Auditorium. The program, sponsored by the Jewish Community Center of Greater Rochester, is open to the RIT community and general public.
Spiegelman is co-founder/editor of Raw, the magazine of avant-garde comics and graphics. His presentation, Comics 101.1 is about the culture and evolution of comic arts. Of his many awards, Spiegelman won the Pulitzer Prize in 1992 for his Holocaust narrative MAUS and was named one of Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in 2005. His prints are seen regularly in The New Yorker Magazine and exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the world.
