University Hosts Grant-Writing Workshop on Funding Partnerships

Margit Poirier is conducting a segment for “Finding and Developing Partnerships with Funders.”

Grants4Good, a local not-for-profit organization, and the Rochester chapter of the Society for Technical Communications, are hosting “Finding and Developing Partnerships with Funders” 9 a.m.–noon May 12 in Golisano Hall, room 3435, at Rochester Institute of Technology.

The workshop will focus on finding funders and how to develop a strategic partnership before applying for a grant. The event will have a special emphasis on helping science, technology, engineering and math program leaders locate grant-makers. It is open to RIT faculty and staff as well as the Rochester community.

Topics will include sources and methods of researching grant-makers, preparing and submitting letters of introduction and inquiry, approaching grant-makers by telephone and e-mail and meeting with a grant-maker and successful site visits.

Grants4Good helps not-for-profit organizations seek and write grants and bids for work contracts and projects. Customers of Grants4Good obtain the funds and resources they need to provide quality programs services, and products. Grants4Good is certified by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council and is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Grant Professionals Association.
