Webinar focuses on leadership skills

Rochester Institute of Technology is hosting a webinar, “Engineering Leadership Programs at RIT,” at noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, for professionals looking to advance skills for high-tech manufacturing and service industries. The webinar is an opportunity for participants to learn about part-time leadership programs offered through RIT’s Kate Gleason College of Engineering in product development, manufacturing, systems engineering, supply chain management and project management.

New York state has invested substantially in becoming a center for high-technology manufacturing businesses to advance economic growth and increase employment opportunities. Key to making that a reality is providing highly skilled workers at all levels of the industry.

The RIT webinar is free and open to engineers, scientists, technical managers and professionals looking to move into mid- and senior-level management positions. Participants will learn about graduate degree programs and professional certificates that can be taken on a part-time basis, allowing students the ability to continue working.

“Students have found the skills developed through these programs not only help them become more marketable, they also foster the self-confidence needed to take on new responsibilities. The combination of engineering and business coursework provides a broad perspective needed to lead today’s high technology enterprises," says Mark Smith, director of Multidisciplinary Programs in RIT’s Kate Gleason College of Engineering.
