Work of RIT alumna exhibited at Geva during run of ‘Amadeus’

Virginia Martin says she has an intense “love of the music and art of the Classical and Romantic eras, especially in their relation to the sublime.”

What better way to express her artistry than to create paintings and sculptures on the life of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart—as she portrays the fascination which the composer holds for her, as well as for generations of music lovers.

Martin, who earned her M.F.A. degree from RIT’s School of Art, will showcase her work in an exhibition called “Mozart—Motions of Genius” during the upcoming run of Amadeus which opens at Geva Theatre Center on Sept. 7 and runs through Oct. 3.

This is the third such exhibition by a local artist that Geva has hosted to coincide with productions on the Mainstage.
