NTID Faculty Fellowship Description
NTID established the NTID Faculty Fellowship (NFF) in 2018 as a special effort to provide underrepresented prospective faculty members with opportunities to develop skills necessary to pursue faculty careers within the college of NTID. Prospective faculty members with an interest in lecturer/teaching careers or tenure track teaching/scholarship careers are provided with up to three years of full time financial support and mentoring designed to help them develop skills and experiences necessary to secure permanent positions in academia. Faculty mentors work closely with academic department chairs in designing plans of work that enable individuals to focus on areas of need. For some individuals, this might involve intensive ASL classes, while for others, it might involve completing degree requirements necessary for faculty employment. Participants receive full time pay and benefits in these roles for up to three years. This is a faculty development program that has ALANA candidates as its highest priority.
