Franklin receives physicist volunteer award
Scott Franklin, professor in the School of Physics and Astronomy and director of the Center for Advancing Scholarship to Transform Learning, was awarded the APS Five Sigma Physicist Award, which recognizes outstanding volunteer advocacy work for science policy issues. Franklin was cited for his leadership of the APS Education Policy Committee and congressional advocacy for the Noyce Scholars Program, which funds STEM teacher preparation.
