Qiao co-chairs laser and electro-optics conference
Jie Qiao, associate professor in the Carlson Center for Imaging Science, served as a co-chair for the 2024 Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics, May 4-9 in Charlotte, N.C. Collaborating with international co-chairs, Qiao introduced plenary speakers and technical programs covering 2,245 papers across photonics, lasers, quantum, and related topics. Qiao also presented the paper “Nano-structuring of Glass Using Femtosecond Lasers” and participated in mentoring discussions with women scholars at the Optica Scholar Conference.
