Why did you decide to attend Saunders College of Business at RIT?
When I visited Saunders College of Business for the first time, I said to my parents, "I belong to this place." We had visited several other colleges, but I knew choosing RIT would be the right decision. Faculty and staff genuinely want you to succeed, and they will provide the appropriate resources to help along the way.
What's great about your co-op?
I was given the opportunity to work on several different projects that were essential to the organization solving real-world problems during my co-op. Working on multiple projects, I was even able to present them to the department's management team! The working environment and my colleagues made me feel as though I was part of the team from day one. Throughout my summer and fall with BMW, I was meeting new people daily and assisted with the lineside planning for the X3, X4, and X5.
In what ways has Saunders or RIT prepared you for the job market?
Saunders College of Business has helped me build my confidence. This has allowed me to take chances on myself and apply to large corporations. Before Saunders, I would have never imagined I would have worked for a company like BMW. Saunders and RIT provided me with the resources to prepare for the real world by helping me with my resume through skills acquired in classes, past job experiences, mock interviews, and faculty and advisor support.
What do you feel is the most distinctive advantage gained from your Saunders Experience?
The most distinctive advantage of Saunders is working with people from different backgrounds. Class discussions helped me better understand other people's perspectives and points of view which I will continue to think about in real-world working environments.
