Collaboration with Autodesk
RIT industrial design students partnered with Autodesk for the program’s 2023 T-Minus workshop, which annually challenges teams of students to complete a sponsored project in a one-week span. Students created engaging products, using Autodesk Fusion 360 software, that resonate with Autodesk' customers.
The winning team's concept, Designer’s Multi-tool, is a cell phone-sized Swiss Army knife for designers that will be further developed and unveiled at the Autodesk University 2024 conference. It will be the featured product at the event's Fusion 360 Factory Experience, a hands-on experience that gives attendees a kit to assemble a manufactured device — in this case the Designer's Multi-tool — to take home.
The multi-tool includes a four-inch ruler, color reader, laser distance measurer, square, bubble level, engraved ruler and an LED screen to display measurements and RGB hex code.
