Genesee Regional Bank, Rochester, New York
Why did you decide to attend Saunders College of Business at RIT?
I chose the MBA program at Saunders because it is more about applying yourself and less about theory. I found myself working with professors who have been in the industry, and they challenge me to think outside the box.
In what ways have Saunders or RIT prepared you for the job market?
Saunders helped me find what type of leader I am. I learned from my RIT professors to lead by example. The professors are very much about supporting you in your journey at RIT, and that's what I try to do for my employees at the bank: support them and how I can help them grow in their roles.
What do you feel is the most distinctive advantage gained from your Saunders experience?
The learning culture at Saunders is filled with people trying to put their best foot forward and solve the problems of today's economy. And that's great because it's not people who are stuck in their ways. It's people who are looking to change the world.
How do you pay forward both your career experience and knowledge from RIT?
Working locally helps me maintain a deep connection to the RIT Saunders community by giving back through initiatives such as risk management seminars. These seminars nurture the next generation of leaders and pass on the torch I was once given.
