Molecular Illustration
The Molecular Illustration course teaches students to locate, interpret, and manipulate molecular model files derived from experimental data (x-ray crystallography, NMR spectroscopy, etc.).
Students begin by viewing the models in specialized molecular visualization software, usually used by chemists and biologists for studying molecular structures. Eventually students learn to export the molecular data into popular 3D graphics software.
The course culminates with an educational poster depicting the molecular mechanism of a disease process.
