Nancy Rips Donald's Speech

THE PRESIDENT’S ANNUAL STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS is an occasion affording our most politically powerful and ambitious fellow citizens the opportunity to wear the fruits of their ambitions majestically upon their faces, as we humbly watch on our television screens at home. This year’s SOTU was delivered by a president awaiting certain acquittal by the Senate after impeachment by the House. At the end of President Trump’s long and defiantly triumphant address, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who led the failed impeachment campaign, tore up her printed copy of the speech in a theatrical climax that will inevitably be replayed a million times during the nine months of run-up to the 2020 election.
