Unique Materials in Woodcraft Furniture

Below is the capstone work of Qingying Zhao ’20 (Furniture Design).

“I am inspired by contemporary lifestyles and historical techniques,” Zhao said. “I design and create work that combines contemporary materials and traditional wood practices. My experience with a variety of materials not only provides me a unique understanding of the characteristics of each material, but also bring new ideas into my designs. I focus on applying unique materials to traditional woodcraft furniture, home goods and accessories.”
