Appointments and Hours

The Student Health Center staff includes two part-time RID certified sign language interpreters with special training in Healthcare Interpreting. Students who are registered with the Student Health Center as deaf and hard-of-hearing are automatically scheduled with an interpreter for appointments.

Hours of Operation

The Student Health Center will close on 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27th and will re-open for normal business hours on Monday, December 2nd.

*Note: the Student Health Center is closed Wednesdays from 11 a.m.-Noon for weekly staff meetings

After-Hours Care

If you are in need of health advice for immediate medical concerns when the Student Health Center is closed, call 585-475-2255 and select the nurse advice option.

Your insurance may offer telemedicine services. Many insurance providers offer 24/7 access to healthcare professionals from anywhere in the United States. These appointments may be available within minutes to hours of your request. Be sure to check with your insurance carrier for any co-pay or co-insurance that may be required.

RIT’s Aetna Plan partners with Teladoc Health Services, offering 24/7 access to providers via phone or video chat for services including General Medical Care, Mental Health, Dermatology, and Nutrition.

Patient Chat

Patient Chat is a live chat available on the Wellness Portal Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Students can use the live chat to ask Student Health Center staff questions regarding immunizations, required forms, insurance, or appointment scheduling.
