Laboratory Services

Your test results will be shared with you in a follow-up appointment, by telephone, or a secure message via the Wellness Portal.

All other laboratory specimens are sent out to a commercial lab. You have the option to self-pay or have the lab fee billed to your insurance company.

If your medical provider outside the Rochester area orders a lab test, you can arrange to have samples (blood, urine, etc.) collected at the Student Health Center for a fee and sent to an outside lab. In order to have your labs drawn at the Student Health Center you must:

1. Obtain a written request from the medical provider specifying the test name(s) and the relevant diagnosis code(s).
2. Make an appointment to have the sample collected by either calling the Student Health Center or going to the RIT Wellness Portal and selecting the reason for visit Lab Draw (outside provider).
3. Bring the lab request to your appointment along with a copy of your insurance card and a form payment (credit card or Tiger Bucks).

If your medical provider is in Rochester, please make arrangements to have your labs drawn at either RRH Labs or URMC Labs as your provider is expecting to receive the results electronically.
