RIT/NTID’s ‘World Around You’ platform chosen for Inclusive Education award
World Around You, a multilingual platform created by a team at NTID, was selected as the winner of the Inclusive Education award by the mEducation Alliance. The goal of World Around You, or WAY, is to increase global literacy for deaf children by providing greater access to sign languages, early-grade reading materials, vocabulary, reading instruction, and digital games.

RIT/NTID Dyer Arts Center launches virtual exhibit of Modernism by Deaf artists
A virtual opening reception for the Dyer Arts Center’s newest exhibit will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, via Zoom. The exhibition “This is Not Normal: Deaf Modernist Sensibilities,” will showcase Surrealism and other works within the broader genre of Modernism by Deaf artists.

NTID has announced the appointment of Marlene Mata as a new member of the college’s National Advisory Group. Members of the NTID National Advisory Group, whose appointments are approved by the U.S. Department of Education, advise the NTID president in developing and carrying out policies governing the operation and direction of the college.
