Note: Ben Hunt ’00 (CAST) was awarded the Gerald J. Carroll Exemplary Coaching Award by USA Lacrosse for 2022. The Gerald J. Carroll, Jr. Exemplary Coaching Award, is given annually to one boys’ high school coach nationwide who reflects the attributes of the award’s namesake and his commitment to give back to young people some of the lifetime of lessons he himself took from the game. Ben was nominated for this award by parents and players from his team who believe strongly that Ben is well-deserving of this honor. Ben has been head coach of the men’s varsity Auburn High School Lacrosse Club in Auburn, AL team since its start-up in 2011. He has been instrumental in growing the sport here in Auburn and received Coach of the Year for the Greater Birmingham Youth Lacrosse Association in 2021 when he brought the team to their first undefeated record during their regular season. Ben and his wife, Jennifer, recently celebrated their 20 year wedding anniversary and currently reside in Auburn, AL with their three children.

Rebecca moved from Chief Executive of the US Chamber of Commerce in Oman to Communications Director at TAISM in August 2022

Note: The American International School of Muscat (TAISM) has appointed Rebecca Olson 07, MS ’09 (CLA, CAST) (pictured) as its new Communications Director. The new position is responsible for supporting community engagement and sharing the TAISM story in Oman and abroad. Olson is familiar to many in the local community, having led the U.S. Chamber of Commerce affiliate in Oman (OABC) as its chief executive for the past 5 years. Hailing from Upstate New York, Rebecca brings to TAISM more than 17 years of experience serving nonprofit and for-profit organizations in Rochester, Boston, Nairobi, Ramallah, and Muscat. "I am proud to join TAISM both as a communications professional and as a parent myself,” says Olson. “With the lifting of COVID restrictions, we’re entering a brand new season of in-person events and community engagement, with new activities and incredible programs to highlight. They met at RIT where they dated for 3 years, then 2 years long-distance in separate states, before finally tying the knot. They made sure to incorporate orange into their wedding decor to show their tiger pride!
