As always, a big part of education at RIT Croatia is connected to being aware and knowledgeable of new and upcoming technologies. Our professor, Dr. Peter Schmidt, came up with the idea of a Blockchain Academy and has organized it in a lecture series for students who are showing a really big interest in this topic. Dr. Schmidt opened the Academy with two lectures on the groundwork for understanding technology and potential of blockchain based cryptocurrencies, and then the floor turned to outside experts; our students will listen to practitioners from the Croatian blockchain space.

Luka Klancir visted our Zagreb campus on October 12 and talked about his experience in this field and gave a better insight of implementing this technology into business. Luka ventured into the crypto and blockchain space in early 2013 with founding and launch of the first Croatian Bitcoin Portal (crobitcoin.com). Furthermore, he worked in a Croatian digital agency managing dozens of projects and products for top global and local clients like Adriatic Luxury Hotels, FOUR32c, DELL, and Heineken. Luka's educational background is in software engineering, but he has vast experience in business development, organization, and operations. He has consulted a dozen projects in the blockchain space and been actively investing since 2014. He is now the cofounder and COO of Async Labs, a digital agency focused on working with blockchain technology.
