Celebrating Faculty Excellence in Teaching: RIT Croatia's Award-Winning Professors

Recognizing exceptional educators is crucial in fostering a culture of academic excellence. At RIT Croatia, the pursuit of teaching excellence is not only valued but celebrated. During the commencement ceremonies in Zagreb and Dubrovnik, the institution honored four outstanding professors with the prestigious Faculty Excellence in Teaching Awards and the well-deserved awards went to the following recipients: Milena Kužnin, MS, Dr. Vanja Vejzagić, Dr. Kristina Šorić and Kevin Walker, MBA. Through their passion, dedication, and innovative teaching methods, these educators have left a strong impact on students' lives and shaped the educational landscape at RIT Croatia.

Based on student nominations, here are some highlights about this year’s recipients:

Milena Kužnin, MS is a faculty member who is very passionate and, at the same time, her enthusiasm and humbleness when giving a lecture are inspiring and lifting. The quality of the learning experience she provides to students is exemplary: she has excellent communication skills and her ability to engage students is exceptional. Milena is recognized by their students for her support to and motivation for students’ excellence and, in particular, her celebration of students who improve the most in her course.  

Dr. Vanja Vejzagić has an innovative approach in teaching challenging topics, using an array of teaching methods. His lectures are full of real-life examples, and he always strives to improve his classes and keep them up to date. Students appreciate his detailed explanations of all concepts and patience he has in repeating it all over again. He provides quick, detailed, and valuable feedback and is fair and treats all of his students equally. 

Dr. Kristina Šorić is a faculty member who successfully creates a superb learning experience and engages students in memorable discussions. She never puts stress or pressure on her students, so one can always walk in their classroom with ease – whether a test or a regular class. Students are impressed with the effectiveness of her courses, surprised with her wide knowledge about any topic, and appreciative of the valuable feedback they receive in class and out of class. 

Kevin Walker, MBA excels in engaging his students. He commands respect while approaching students as a friend. He is sensitive to students’ progress and goes above and beyond to ensure students have understood all concepts. Students appreciate that he provides quick, detailed, and valuable feedback, as well as his fairness in doing so, with a touch of a unique sense of humor.
