Congratulations Class of 2018!

Another academic year comes to an end and we say good-bye (not farewell!!) to another class of graduating students. One would think that one would get used to it by now, but our faculty and staff members beg to differ. Each year we part with students we spent 4 years with and we see them off to the business world with mixed emotions.. This year was no different - more than 150 of RIT Croatia seniors walked the stage on both campuses and close to 1,000 people - friends, families, faculty and staff members - were there to witness it and show their support.

The ceremonies took place on May 18th in the Westin hotel (Zagreb) and May 19th in the Rixos Libertas hotel (Dubrovnik). RIT Croatia had the pleasure to invite and host distinguished guests: Mr. Mato Franković, Mayor of the City of Dubrovnik, Žaklina Marević, Deputy county prefect of Dubrovačko-neretvanska county in Dubrovnik and W. Robert Kohorst, the United States Ambassador to the Republic of Croatia, in Zagreb. All of them had good advice and the most beautiful wishes for the future for the graduates of RIT Croatia. Most anticipated and welcomed speeches came from our valedictorian students, Ana Maria Trojić (HTM program, Dubrovnik) and Daniela Kunej (IT/WMC program, Zagreb) who mentioned the importance of formed relationships with fellow students and the RIT community. Finally, the newly appointed Alumni association President, Mirela Subotić and RIT Croatia Dean and President, Don Hudspeth wished them well and told them RIT Croatia will keep its doors open to them at all times!

RIT's President Dr. David C. Munson Jr. attended his first commencement ceremonies in Croatia. "I am honored and pleased to be with you today to celebrate this wonderful occasion with you, your family and your friends. Historic moments in our lives are rare, but we are privileged to be at one today - the 20th commencement ceremony of RIT Croatia!", said Dr. Munson. The most memorable moment came after the conferral of degrees when all the graduates threw their caps in the air.
