It took 3 months of intensive preparation; blood, sweat and tears went into organizing this event, and the grand finale justified all of our expectations - "Dinburger ChaRITy Evening" that took place in Hilton Imperial turned out to be excellent in all aspects. This unique and innovative gastronomical concept, with the emphasis on paring gourmet burgers with chosen wines, craft beers and cocktails, was created and organized by Hospitality and Tourism Management sophomore and junior year students. 20 ambitious students took the Project Management for Events course with the specific goal to be a part of this event's organization team, mentored by Professor Domagoj Nikolić and Mr. Daniel Butigan, F&B Manger at the Hilton Imperial Hotel. At the actual event, around 20 additional student volunteers joined the core organization team to make sure the event was entirely student run and flawless.

Considering the fact that Dinburger ChaRITy Evening was such an innovative concept that was diligently promoted by students, it is no wonder that it attracted numerous successful people from the tourism and hospitality industry, current and former students of RIT Croatia, professors, as well as the Mayor of Dubrovnik, Mr. Mato Franković and Mrs. Dubravka Šuica, Member of European Parliament who also came to support the event.

"Dinburger is a part of experiential learning through which students leave the safe and comfortable classroom environment in order to take part in real life professional projects. Looking at it from that aspect, the project was a huge success because students had a fantastic opportunity to learn and to grow professionally, as well as to enjoy the complete success of the event and the fact that we managed to raise a considerable donation for Dom Maslina. With this concept we've demonstrated that there is indeed room for creativity and innovation within the hospitality industry, and for that we are more than proud of", commented professor Nikolić.

The donation in the amount of 37.000,00 kn, collected through ticket sale and lottery at the event, was donated to Children's home "Dom Maslina".

"I am thrilled with this initiative that came from the youth of RIT Croatia and for the youth of Dom Maslina. I especially give thanks to all the students who demonstrated enourous amount of energy, work and love in realizing this project", said Ms. Ilijana Stojanović, director of Dom Maslina.
