Dr. Žagar contributes to advancing telemedicine education at TEAM project meeting

On September 17, 2024, RIT Croatia joined project partners from Belgium, Slovenia, Romania, Greece, and Ukraine for an important transnational meeting in Brussels, organized by the Institut de Haute Formation aux Politiques Communautaires (IHF). The meeting was a key moment for the Telemedicine Education Advancement through Micro-credentials (TEAM) project, as it nears the end of its first year.

Dr. Martin Žagar, a faculty member at RIT Croatia and a key member of the TEAM project team, participated in discussions focused on two major areas:

1. Completion of Telemedicine Education and Industry Partnership Mapping (WP2)

Led by RIT Croatia, this work package reviewed the state of telemedicine education in the partner countries, identifying skill gaps and infrastructure needs. The results of this research will shape the future direction of the project as it continues to develop. The insights gained from this mapping will help ensure that telemedicine education aligns with the needs of the healthcare and digital industries.

2. Transition to Development of Training Materials (WP3)

The meeting also marked the start of Work Package 3, where partners will begin creating innovative training materials for telemedicine education. These materials will form part of a new digital learning platform aimed at helping healthcare professionals, students, and IT specialists gain the skills they need to work effectively in telemedicine. The project team focused on ensuring the training will meet local and global digital health needs.

The TEAM project is steadily progressing toward building a robust educational platform to benefit healthcare systems in countries facing critical healthcare challenges. The next phase will test and refine the new training materials, ensuring they are practical, effective, and widely accessible.
