You have quite possibly heard about a hackaton, maybe you have attended one or two yourself. And you know it means usually 24 hours of coding and programming with the aim to come up with a solution to a hackaton challenge. Well, we decided to take it one step further and are organizing our own very first IDEATHON which is meant for IT / Web and Mobile Computing student and our International Business students.

There is no learning like experiential learning and though our students have been extremely successful in winning hackatons, we wanted to extend this opportunity to other (non-IT) students and let them collaborate. The topic, the theme is really interesting and vast: The Future of Education and the event will take place in HUB385 this Friday and Saturday (October 26 - 27).

The event starts on Friday at 5pm and it will gather 5 teams from Zagreb campus that will be mentored by our IT / WMC faculty Aleksander Radovan, Andrej Šarić, Scott Coleman (TDA), our alumna, Nina Mimica (Hrvatski telekom) and Diana Mudrinić (HUB385). After a whole night of brainstorming and developing the ideas, the presentations will start on Saturday at 3.15 pm. The mentors will also be the judges and they will pick the best solution based on the following criteria: business potential/useful/practical/viable, creative/innovative/wow factor, fits the theme, financially feasible, and IT technologies utilization. All submissions remain the intellectual property of the individuals that developed them.

All teams will be rewarded with a super experience of working and collaborating jointly under such conditions, mentored by experienced professionals. Thanks to the sponsor of the project, ExtensionEngine, the best team will receive a financial award as well.
