Dr. Branko Mihaljević and Aleksander Radovan, as representatives of RIT Croatia, together with four of our IT/WMC students - Leo Bach, Hrvoje Grgić, Daniela Kunej, and Matko Piškor, participated in a roundtable discussion, organized by Oracle Academy on June 6th in Zagreb. This round table was one of many activities at the Oracle's User Group Leaders Summit, which was led by Tom Scheirsen, Director of Community Experience & Global Initiatives.

Mr. Darko Jureković, Oracle Academy Program Manager for this part of Europe, moderated this interesting discussion on the topic of how software developer user groups can learn from (our best) students to look at the future of the sustainable developer community and how a community should/can support them in their careers. Our students had a chance to explain their experiences related to our Web and Mobile Computing / IT study program, their co-ops, doing research and writing professional papers, attending and presenting at conferences, and other user group supported activities.

Mr. Jureković's idea behind this roundtable discussion was to gather selected Oracle Academy members from universities and colleges represented by faculty members and students who are also participating in local software development communities and local user groups.

"I would like to use this opportunity and to thank Darko for inviting us to take part in this event. I think that this was a nice opportunity for our students to present what they did at RIT Croatia and to express their opinions about our program, co-ops, first job experience, extracurricular activities, attending conferences and other similar topics", commented Dr. Mihaljević.
