RIT Croatia welcomes new faculty members in fall 2024/2025

RIT Croatia is thrilled to introduce five distinguished educators who have joined our faculty for the fall semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. Their expertise and enthusiasm for teaching will significantly enrich our academic community.

Ana Baketa joins us to teach the Careers in Business course. With a Master’s degree in Management from the Faculty of Economics & Business in Zagreb, Ana has a strong background in human resources, having started her career as an HR Generalist. She later transitioned to a role as a Career Advisor and Lecturer at RIT Croatia. Currently, she works as a Recruiter at SELECTIO, Croatia’s leading HR consulting firm, and also serves as an Auditor for the HR Excellence for SELECTIO's Employer Partner certificate. Ana’s course will focus on providing students with practical skills and knowledge to navigate the job market, develop their careers, and achieve their professional aspirations. Her goal is to offer students valuable insights into recruitment processes and industry trends, empowering them to build successful careers.

Dr. Ivica Draganjac will be teaching Networking Essentials for Developers as part of our Web and Mobile Computing program. Ivica holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (UNIZG-FER). Ivica began his professional career in 2006 as a Research and Teaching Assistant in the Department of Control and Computer Engineering at UNIZG-FER, where he worked on various scientific and industrial projects in the field of robotics, and supported several graduate courses. In 2009, his career expanded into the cybersecurity field, where he developed extensive expertise in computer networking, cryptography, data security, and cyber defense. Students in Ivica’s course can expect to gain a comprehensive understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies through engaging lectures, practical examples, and hands-on exercises. 

Vitar Drinković will lead the New Media Design Motion Graphics course in our New Media Design program. He received his master's degree in sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in 2008. During his studies, he spent one semester at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, USA. In 2014, he finished his master's degree in animation and new media at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, where during his studies he participated in a student exchange at London Metropolitan University, England. He created 29 solo exhibitions, 8 sculptures in public spaces, and participated in 14 art workshops. He exhibited in 63 group exhibitions in Croatia, Germany, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, Austria, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, the USA, Canada, and France. He is the winner of several awards, recognitions, and scholarships. His work explores the intersection of technology, science, and art, creating interactive devices and installations that serve as communication mediators. Vitar aims to provide students with a fresh perspective on the sensory and cognitive aspects of everyday life. Vitar is also a member of the Croatian Association of Artists (HDLU) and the Croatian Freelance Artists Association (HZSU).

Mia Klemenčić will be teaching New Media Design Survey 1 in the New Media Design program. Mia holds a master’s degree in design from the Faculty of Architecture’s School of Design at the University of Zagreb and a Ph.D. in Graphic Engineering and Design from the Faculty of Graphic Arts in Zagreb. Her professional career has focused on graphic and editorial design, with a specialization in desktop publishing. Mia’s work includes over fifty book covers and numerous digital content and visual identities for festivals. Her research in sustainable design has led to publications on packaging recycling and sustainability. Mia’s goal is to inspire creativity and foster design thinking in her students through an interactive and enjoyable learning experience.

Dr. Lamila Simišić Pašić will teach the Design for Developers course in our Web and Mobile Computing program. Lamila is a multidisciplinary architect with a PhD from Universitat Internacional de Catalunya in Barcelona and an MA in Biodigital Architecture from the same institution. Her teaching and research explore advanced digital applications in architecture, integrating computation, biology, and ecology. Lamila’s work aims to bridge the gap between the virtual and real worlds, fostering a new dialogue between humans and technology. In her course, students will learn to communicate ideas and information visually, enriching their design vocabulary.

We are excited to kick start the new academic year with these talented educators being added to RIT Croatia’s team. Their diverse backgrounds and dedication to education will undoubtedly enhance our academic community. We eagerly anticipate the innovative perspectives they will bring to our students and faculty.
