On Monday, December 17, 2018, Dr. Jim Watters, Senior Vice-President of Finance & Administration, and Ms. Therese Hannigan, Director, RIT Online, represented RIT & RIT Croatia at the opening of the exhibition "Dubrovnik, A Scarred City - The Destruction and Restoration of Dubrovnik 1991-2000" at the United Nations Headquarters in NYC.

The exhibition of war photos is a vivid reminder of the troubled times Dubrovnik went through not so long ago. Moreover, it shows the inspirational path to recovery only to become one of the most popular historic destinations nowadays.

The event was attended by the Mayor of Dubrovnik, Mr. Mato Franković, who is also an RIT Croatia Alumnus, as well as Ms. Marie Paule Roudil, the Director of UNESCO Liaison Office New York and UNESCO Representative to the United Nations since 2015, and many other distinguished representatives of the United Nations, the Republic of Croatia, and representatives of Croatian communities in the US.
