Overview

The Arabic Language is spoken by over 422 million people worldwide. The Arabic Language is the official language of the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Algeria, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Palestine, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, Western Sahara, Yemen and is widely spoken in Somalia.

Arabic is one of the six official Languages of the United Nations. Arabic is the language of the Holy Qur’an which preserved the original form of Arabic used in the seventh century. Arabic is read from right to left with 28 letters. Modern standardized Arabic is the official language of the Arab world is a slightly modified form of the classical Arabic found in the Quran.

Classical Language is known as Fus’ha (MSA – Modern Standard Arabic) and is used in written texts & spoken in formal occasions such as speeches, sermons, and the news. Many forms of spoken colloquial Arabic are used daily in homes, streets, and shops. Studying Arabic can open you to a world that can take you to understand Arab culture and the Muslim world. Broadening your horizons and learning more about other cultures will enhance your skills and broaden your opportunities.

This introductory course is designed for beginners who have little to no prior knowledge of Arabic. It aims to provide a solid foundation in the language, focusing on the basics of reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

Key competencies of the Arabic Language Course


Help learners to understand the Arabic alphabet, as well as articulation of the sounds and spelling conventions.


Provide learners with a basic knowledge of essential grammar rules and sentence structures.


Assist learners in acquiring principal Arabic vocabulary and developing rudimentary communication skills.

Workshop Schedule

Every Thursday from February 27, 2025 until April 17, 2025.
