Glass Visiting Artist: Alicia Eggert

RIT's glass program is hosting Alicia Eggert as part of its 2022 Visiting Artist Lecture Series Tuesday, Nov. 8, through Thursday, Nov. 10. During her visit she will deliver a talk about her work and lead a group discussion regarding the theme of FAILURE as it lives in the form of pleasant surprise within studio practice. 

Eggert will also conduct a studio activity in the Hot Glass Studio with students exploring words/letters in hot glass. These events are open to the RIT community:

  • FAILURE Discussion: 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, Glass Classroom (Booth Hall, 3634)
  • Studio Workshop 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, Hot Glass Studio (Booth Hall, 3730)

Eggert is an interdisciplinary artist whose work gives material form to language and time. Her work has been exhibited at many notable institutions nationally and internationally, as well as in the collections of the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, New Holland Island (St. Petersburg, Russia), and the Light Art Collection (Amsterdam, Netherlands) to name a few. She is currently Associate Professor of Studio Art at the University of North Texas.
