Steve Grills: Vocalist and Blues Guitar Virtuoso
Enjoy a performance by Steve Grills, with Tom Hanney and RIT student guest soloists from SOIS' Harmonica and the Blues class!
The School of Performing Arts and School of Individualized Study welcome vocalist and blues guitar virtuoso Steve Grills, a staple of the Rochester scene for more than 30 years. Steve made his debut performing between sets of Rochester luminary Joe Beard in the late 1970s at the K&T Tavern. Steve has played with many blues legends including Robert Lockwood, Jr. who invited Steve and his band to perform at his Legendary Blues Festival near Cleveland, Ohio.
Steve’s album, After Hours, was released to great acclaim on Rochester’s Toogaloo Label. It features longtime Grills’ collaborator pianist Ernest Lane of Ike and Tina Turner Revue fame.
