Viva l'Italia 2022 - Us Film “Porpora” Premiere and Pasolini 360 Symposium

Born in 2011, the program has covered a variety of topics from literature, to figurative art, visual culture, design, cinema, philosophy, political science in their intersection with Italian language and culture. The focus has been strongly rooted in multidisciplinarity along the best traditional of Italian Renaissance thought and culture.
The series will engage Faculty from various universities in North America and Italy, along with Artists on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
The series will kick off with a concert with Us Premiere of the film “Porpora” (2021) by Roberto Cannavò telling the story of the most important Italian Trans Activist Porpora Marcasciano with her presence virtually prior to screening, and culminate in 1 day mini-symposium on the activist, journalist, poet, writer, filmmaker, screenwriter, playwright, theater director Pier Paolo Pasolini in the 100th year of his birth.
