Zana Idrizi (BS '14) is at the forefront of countering disinformation as an Information Integrity Specialist with the UNDP's Global Center for Governance. Her role involves providing policy and programmatic guidance to UNDP country offices worldwide, with a particular focus on safeguarding the integrity of information posed on  elections and democratic governance.
Previously, Zana was leading Regional Portfolio on Information Integrity at UNDP Istanbul Regional Hub. In this capacity, she supported 18 UNDP Country Offices with programmatic support on strengthening information integrity during crises, including in Ukraine, Moldova, and Kyrgyzstan, Kosovo and North Macedonia, among others.
Zana holds a Master Degree in International Security from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver, Colorado.
Reflecting on her time at RIT Kosovo, Zana attributes her passion for international development and her career at the UN to the comprehensive education and vibrant community she was part of. "RIT Kosovo wasn't just about learning from books; it was about real-world experiences, like the internships we got, or activities such as being part of the Model United Nations Club, which sparked my interest in global issues and led me to where I am today," she says.
The values of hard work, innovation, and teamwork she learned there have become the foundation of her role as an Information Integrity Specialist at UNDP, guiding her every day in the fight against disinformation.
