RIT Kosovo Public Policy Professor, Mentor Nimani, Publishes Two Key Research Articles on Migration and Talent Retention
Prishtina, Kosovo – March, 2025– RIT Kosovo is excited to announce that Mentor Nimani, a distinguished Public Policy Professor at RIT Kosovo, has recently published two important articles that delve into pressing issues affecting Kosovo’s development and migration trends.
The first article, titled "Empowering Migration Solutions: The Impact of Evidence-Based Policymaking in Kosovo," was published in the Academic Journal of Business, Administration, Law, and Social Sciences (Vol. 11, Issue 1, March 2025). This study examines the role of evidence-based policymaking (EBP) in enhancing the effectiveness of Kosovo’s public administration. It offers valuable insights on how EBP can improve accountability, transparency, and policy effectiveness while addressing the critical issue of youth emigration. Through recommendations like aligning education with labor market needs, improving vocational training, and fostering sustainable employment opportunities, the study provides a pathway to mitigating the challenges of youth migration in Kosovo.

The second article, "Brain Drain in Kosovo: Policy Recommendations for Talent Retention and Sustainable Development," was published in SEEU Review (Vol. 19, Issue 2, 2024). This research takes a deep dive into the factors behind Kosovo’s youth brain drain, including the economic, political, and social challenges that drive educated youth to emigrate. The study provides a set of practical policy recommendations to address these challenges, focusing on the need for higher wages, better job opportunities, political stability, and increased support for entrepreneurship. These recommendations aim to improve talent retention and promote sustainable development within Kosovo.
