RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) celebrates Women Entrepreneurship Week 2022 together with over 260 universities and colleges across the globe
On October 19, 2022, RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) celebrated Women Entrepreneurship Week (WEW) 2022 organized by Feliciano Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation part of Montclair State University in New Jersey, U.S. This year WEW 2022 was the largest celebration as over 260 universities and colleges from around the globe joined Montclair State University to celebrate female founders in our communities.
Part of celebrating WEW 2022, RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) was pleased to host a panel of discussion event in the Main Auditorium which brought together current students, alumni, faculty, and staff. The topic of the event was: “Innovating Change and Adapting to Global Trends: What are challenges and opportunities of being an Entrepreneur in Kosovo?”. The panel consisted of three amazing women entrepreneurs: Ms. Zana Tabaku, CEO and Founder (Appdex), Ms. Jeta Zagragja, CEO and Founder (AnchorzUp LLC), and Ms. Bardha Ajvazi, CEO and Founder (Brandfluence).
Ms. Tabaku is a tech leading figure and the first female entrepreneur in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector in Kosovo who is often seen mentoring and inspiring young and talented Kosovar women in ICT.
Ms. Zagragja, a proud Alumna of RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) who graduated in 2010, is a tech entrepreneur and an investor who brings more than 15 years of practical experience in the technology and finance industry, startups, and the non-profit sector in Kosovo and the U.S.
Ms. Ajvazi, yet another proud Alumna of RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) who graduated in 2012, is a certified digital transformation expert who has 10 years of professional experience in marketing, digital transformation, and project management.
The panelists were asked to share their stories, how they started their entrepreneurship journey, and the challenges they faced along the way. According to Ms. Tabaku, when she and her partners started the entrepreneurship journey they faced challenges and had difficulty navigating how to manage their company. They just decided to take the risk and be ready to fail. She said, “Failure and success go hand in hand, and just like you are ready to have success you should also be ready to fail too, if it is necessary”.
According to Ms. Zagragja, people have to work hard and grab every single opportunity life presents to them. She said, “They should not be afraid of challenges because there will always be problems – it’s just that they get upgraded and people evolve as they face problems and they become and a problem-solver. And that is when they realize they are not afraid of challenges.”
According to Mr. Ajvazi, entrepreneurship is a long journey, a never-ending learning process, that is full of excitement and challenges at the same. “If you want to open your company, don’t overthink just take the lead and throw your idea out there. If you wait for the right moment, you will never be ready. There will always be unexpected challenges on the road and you will always be ready to face them.”
RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) was pleased to celebrate together with 260 universities and colleges from around the world. A big thank you goes out to Montclair State University for inviting RIT Kosovo (A.U.K.) to participate in WEW 2022.
