Scopus Indexed Book Chapter Spotlight: RIT Kosovo CIT Students’ Research on AI in the Balkan healthcare system

Amela Kajtazi and Lea Krasniqi, dedicated sophomore students from RIT Kosovo pursuing degrees in Computing and Information Technologies (CIT), have achieved a major academic accomplishment by contributing a chapter to a prestigious book "Big Data Analytics and Intelligent Applications for Smart and Secure Healthcare Services” indexed in SCOPUS. Their research, conducted under the mentorship of Dr. Debabrata Samanta, delves into the transformative role of artificial intelligence (AI) in the healthcare industry, specifically in the Balkan region.

The chapter, titled "Transforming Intelligent Systems for the Healthcare Industry in the Balkan," explores how AI can revolutionize healthcare by enhancing electronic health records and integrating smart medical devices through the Internet of Things (IoT). The research emphasizes the potential of AI to improve early disease detection, optimize patient information management, and reduce the reliance on additional staff, ultimately contributing to a more efficient and secure healthcare system.

Amela and Lea shared, "We worked diligently over the summer, with the invaluable support and guidance of Dr. Debabrata Samanta, to bring this research to fruition. It has been an incredible learning experience and a privilege to contribute to such an important field. We are also deeply grateful to RIT Kosovo's library for providing the essential resources and support that facilitated our research."
