RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) Celebrates Women Entrepreneurship Week 2023 with its Entrepreneur Alumni
RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) celebrated the 10th Women Entrepreneurship Week (WEW) 2023 on October 18, 2023, as part of the global celebration organized by the Feliciano Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Montclair State University in New Jersey, U.S.
As part of this celebration, RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) organized an engaging panel discussion which brought together current students, alumni, faculty, and staff with the topic: “Exploring Innovation: Kosovo Context,” highlighting the unique challenges and opportunities for women entrepreneurs in Kosovo. The panel consisted of three successful women alumni contributing to entrepreneurship in Kosovo:
- Ms. Dorina Grezda (BS ’12), Incubator and Project Manager at the Innovation Center Kosovo (ICK);
- Ms. Argjiro Ramosaj (BS ’12), Head of Business Development at the Mabetex Holding and Project Leader at Lindex Kosova & Albania; and
- Ms. Buna Perteshoni (BS ’23), Co-Founder & Head of Marketing at the VeshDesh.
WEW 2023 commenced with a warm welcome from the Assistant Professor, Dr. Venera Demukaj. “I am absolutely delighted to welcome you all to this special occasion where we have the distinct pleasure of hosting a panel of accomplished women entrepreneurs, all of whom are esteemed alumni of our university.” Dr. Demukaj emphasized that the panelists' journeys serve as a testament to inspiration, resilience, and unwavering commitment, demonstrating the numerous possibilities that await current students.
The panelists shared their entrepreneurial journeys and inspiring messages with the audience. Ms. Ramosaj highlighted Lindex's dedication to sustainable fashion practices and education, aiming to offer conscious and inclusive fashion with Scandinavian values in Kosovo and Albania.
Ms. Grezda emphasized the importance of actively seeking opportunities, exploring new programs, and building meaningful partnerships as essential steps toward success. She encouraged the audience to embrace the power of networking, continuous learning, and innovative initiatives.
Ms. Ramosaj credited RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) with providing her with a platform to explore diverse opportunities, develop the necessary skills and mindset for entrepreneurship, and emphasized that the institution empowers students to pursue unique visions.
On the other hand, Ms. Perteshoni said, “Every innovation started as just that—an idea. Stay determined, keep learning, and embrace resilience. Your dreams will become your reality!”.
The celebration of the 10th Women Entrepreneurship Week reinforces RIT Kosovo (A.U.K)'s commitment to supporting and promoting women in entrepreneurship and innovation.
