RIT’s Creative Industry “Day” drew a wide range of talent seekers from companies such as Amazon, Forbes Media, and Microsoft last week, as the 16th annual event went virtual Feb. 22-26 this year due to the pandemic.

Film and Animation Professor Jack Beck's "Stari Grad (Old Town)" — filmed in Dubrovnik, Croatia — follows a young boy who, hiding from a devastating military conflict, wishes for peace.

Film and photography students worked as camera operators and videographers as indie pop band MisterWives filmed a visual album in MAGIC Spell Studios. It's among the many examples of MAGIC providing professional-level experiences for students.

"Alien Xmas," a 40-minute stop-motion animation special directed by Stephen Chiodo '76 (Professional Photographic Illustration), premieres Nov. 20 on Netflix.

Many faculty and alumni of RIT's School of Film and Animation were part of the creative team for a documentary selected for a handful of festivals.

Normally lined with exhibits showcasing the talents of RIT faculty, students, and alumni, three RIT galleries are instead outfitted this semester with the desks and technology necessary to meet the academic needs of hundreds of first-year College of Art and Design students. The University and Bevier Galleries inside Booth Hall and the William Harris Gallery in Gannett Hall have been transformed into creative classrooms.

Students Joy Anderson (Film and Animation) and Aria A. Dines (Film and Animation; Illustration) are featured speakers for the Levine Center to End Hate's "Brave Spaces" event.

Film and Animation (Production option) student Sophie Walter further hones her video editing skills by working for RIT SportsZone, an on-campus production organization covering RIT athletics.
