Meet Kyle Sayers ’99 (civil engineering technology), the College of Engineering Technology 2019 Distinguished Alumnus.

RIT Racing and teams from Brazil, Venezuela, Mexico, Canada, India and the United States will field race cars, built by student-engineers, and test them on a track that will challenge not only the durability of the cars but the problem-solving capabilities of the teams during the 2019 Baja SAE Rochester World Challenge June 6-9.

Meet Brady Smith, a fourth-year civil engineering technology student and captain of this year’s Concrete Canoe team.

Concrete canoes float—really. And bridges are more complicated to construct than putting up a few steel beams. Student-engineers who build both the unusual—yet attractive—canoes and complex bridge spans will display their designs at the 2019 Upstate New York Regional Student Conference taking place April 19-20 at RIT.
