College of Art and Design faculty and staff led a workshop educating Rochester City School District art teachers on portfolio requirements and the art of photographing portfolio pieces. 

A new Netflix glassblowing reality series features an RIT alumna as an expert glassmaker. Blown Away, which begins airing July 12 on the streaming platform, follows a group of 10 highly skilled glassmakers who compete in challenges in 10 episodes. Catherine Ayers ’06 (glass) is one of six Corning Museum of Glass experts who assists the two finalists in the last challenge.

Andy Koupal '09 (glass) worked with College of Art and Design interim dean Robin Cass during a weeklong artist-in-residency program Koupal helps manage.

A sculpture by metals and jewelry design professor Carlos Caballero-Perez was recently installed in Fairport, with the piece representing a "Connection" to the village's history. 

John Dodd, an instructor in RIT’s College of Art and Design for more than 40 years, is the sixth recipient of the Edline M. Chun Award for Outstanding Teaching and Service. The award, named in honor of the late RIT adjunct professor Edline Chun, has been given annually since 2014 to a faculty member who exemplifies excellence and dedication in teaching to an affiliated school in the College of Art and Design.

RIT City Art Space—the College of Art and Design’s new first-floor gallery and community event venue inside Sibley Square at Liberty Pole Plaza in downtown Rochester—opened its doors to the public on Friday, with an exhibition featuring two of the university’s creative titans.

Sixteen students and two alumni from RIT’s School for American Crafts showcased their jewelry creations at the ninth annual Fashion Week of Rochester.
