Telling the story of the Society for the Protection and Care of Children using virtual reality
The Society for the Protection and Care of Children (SPCC) was founded in Rochester, N.Y., in 1875, and yet there are many people in the city who are not familiar with the organization. Capturing the positive impact the SPCC has on families, and sharing the many valuable resources the organization provides, was a challenge that members of RIT’s College of Art and Design accepted.

RIT students use innovative design through Studio930 to enhance lives
RIT students participated in this summer’s Studio930 design consultancy, an interdisciplinary studio that focuses on the development of assistive healthcare solutions by leveraging the use of technology, art, and design. The 10-week long summer experience concluded with a student exhibition inside RIT’s LiveAbility Lab, a close partnership between RIT and the Al Sigl Community of Agencies.

RIT Croatia launches a new media design program, accepting students for fall 2022
RIT has launched a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in new media design at its RIT Croatia Zagreb campus. Enrollment is currently underway and the first cohort of students will begin its studies in the multidisciplinary degree program this fall.

After going virtual for 2021, the Imagine RIT: Creativity and Innovation Festival is back in person and virtually, planned from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, on the RIT campus in Henrietta and online at the Imagine RIT website.

Winner announced in 2022 Imagine RIT poster contest
An image of a 3D, futuristic, jack-in-the-box is the winning entry in this year’s Imagine RIT: Creativity and Innovation Festival poster contest. The artist, Sarah Neff, a second-year new media design major from Waterbury, Vt., wins $500 in Tiger Bucks. More than 50 entries were submitted.

Bay Area couple enjoying success by design
Drawn to RIT for its unique focus on technology, art, and design, Lindsay ’09 and Andy Mindler ’09 saw new media design as the perfect blend of 3D, motion, and code to fuel their diverse design interests. The couple started dating at RIT in 2007 and married in 2011. Since moving to the West Coast, they have carved out successful design careers, joining an ever-growing throng of new media and other RIT design alumni living and working in the Bay Area.
