RITâs 12th Lighting the Way Ceremony, sponsored by the Center for Women & Gender, is a welcoming event for female freshmen and transfer students. All women students, faculty and staff of RIT are welcomed to join the walk to show that women are welcomed and a valued part of the RIT community. -

RIT Athletics held its annual all-athlete meeting on Aug. 27 at the Gordon Field House to kick off the 2017-18 season. Executive Director of Athletics Lou Spiotti, along with special guest speaker Scott MacNair â93, former menâs hockey standout and president of Stryker Canada, spoke to all 675 RIT student-athletes. On Sept. 1, menâs and womenâs cross country, menâs and womenâs soccer and volleyball play in their first contests of the season. -

Alumni parents and grandparents presented their incoming students with an 1829 pin on Aug. 21 during the Legacy Family Pinning Ceremony and then posed for a group photo. The pin symbolizes that the incoming student is carrying on the familyâs tradition of academic excellence. More than 600 legacy students are currently enrolled at RIT. -
