Responsibilities:
Provide rehabilitative audiological services. Administer and interpret audiological tests, develop a treatment plan and establish goals for each patient.
Provide quality care and aftercare of dispensing services such as hearing tests, hearing aid fittings, educate and train hearing aid users of best practices.
Monitor progress of recommendations and treatment plans and reassesses as appropriate.
Perform checks on hearing aids and other amplification devices including but not limited to troubleshooting, conducting repairs to hearing aids, earmolds and cleaning of hearing aids.
Calibrate equipment, prepare related reports and maintains the audiological suite, materials and supplies.
Communicate with patient and family and provides counseling when appropriate.
Provide case management services and make client referrals to other social or health service agencies if needed.
Log procedures and submit charges submission to the billing department.
Write evaluation reports and daily progress notes on a timely basis.
Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge in field of audiology. Prepare and present in-service education to staff and the community.
Assist in implementing and monitoring the departments quality assurance program.

Requirements
Doctorate in Audiology. Valid NYS license or eligibility for licensing as an audiologist. Excellent fund of clinical knowledge and critical thinking skills. Ability to assess signs and symptoms of illness to make accurate diagnoses and develop treatment plan. Ability to skillfully apply diagnostic and treatment modalities of his/her medical specialty. Employ excellent written and verbal communication skills when interacting with colleagues, staff, patients and caregivers. Ability to establish effective and collaborative relations with patients, caregivers and other members of the care delivery team. Sensitivity to socioeconomic and psychosocial needs of patients and caregivers.
