Paid STEM Internship with Dept of Defense
Part-time

The Naval Research Enterprise Internship Program (NREIP) provides opportunities for academically talented college students, graduating seniors, and graduate students to participate in paid summer research internship at one of 50 Department of the Navy (DoN) laboratories around the United States.

This is an opportunity to work hands-on with Naval scientists engaged in military-funded research in one of many fields. While the types of actual work varies lab-to-lab, our interns perform actual research alongside the Navy's best scientific and engineering minds. Students pursuing a degree in a wide range of majors are encouraged to apply.

The eligibility requirements are as follows:

Enrolled at a four-year U.S. college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education.
On track to acquire a minimum of 31 credits by the end of their Spring semester before their internship start date.
Studying in a program of study that is relevant to the research interests of one or more of the 50 participating laboratories.
Sole U.S. citizenship; some participating laboratories will consider dual citizens and permanent residents.
Interns are selected based upon academic achievement, personal statements, recommendations, and career and research interests.

Applications for Summer 2025 internships must be completed on the Naval STEM Interns website and are open from August 1 to November 1, 2024.
