Mentor Supported Shadowing Program: Student Application
- RIT/
- Deaf Health Care and
Biomedical Science Hub/ - Mentor Supported Shadowing Program
Purpose
The Deaf Hub promotes representation of deaf and hard-of-hearing (D/HH) individuals in health care & biomedical science careers. The Deaf Hub does this by supporting students in identifying opportunities to network with practicing healthcare professionals. D/HH RIT students who want to shadow D/HH healthcare professionals and participate in a mentoring program to maximize their preparation for a career in healthcare are encouraged to apply.
Deaf Hub is proud to present two opportunities for students to shadow D/HH healthcare professionals this year:
- MSSP is a four-year structured mentoring and shadowing program that will support students through their RIT careers and guide them towards successful application to professional school or employment in healthcare. Students in their 1st/2nd years will begin here.
- A summer shadowing experience is offered for upperclass students in their 3rd/4th years that will graduate soon and therefore cannot participate in the full MSSP. Summer shadowing students will still be matched with a healthcare professional and receive support from the MSSP team.
