You're interested in more than just your major. You have a love and a talent for theatre and tech production, acting, dancing, or playing music. At RIT/NTID, we just don't hope you'll continue participating in the performing arts, we absolutely encourage it through scholarship programs.
RIT Performing Arts Scholarship
All first-year and transfer applicants to RIT/NTID are eligible to apply for the Performing Arts Scholarship, regardless of intended major. This scholarship may be received in combination with other awards and grants and is renewable each year you are involved in performing arts at RIT.
NTID Performing Arts Scholarship
A limited number of scholarships are available to current RIT/NTID students on a yearly basis. The scholarship was created to recognize accomplishments in the performing arts by deaf and hard-of-hearing students. Scholarship recipients must be active participants in the performing arts while at RIT/NTID. Financial need is a strong consideration when reviewing applications.
Award winners will be expected to commit themselves to performing arts service by performing in one play production, enrolling in one performing arts class during the academic year, or being involved in a practicum. Participation can be in any area of the performing arts; from acting, design, dance, or back-stage participation for the season’s events.
A letter explaining your background and interest in the award should be sent to ntidperformingarts@rit.edu before the end of April. This scholarship may be received in combination with other awards and grants, but you must re-apply for this scholarship on an annual basis. For more information, email ntidperformingarts@rit.edu.
