My research group uses novel spectroscopies in environmental chemistry applications. We have been studying dissolved organic carbon dynamics in the treatment of drinking and wastewater, including the potential use of carbon nanotubes for remediating polluted water systems. We have also recently been active in the analysis of natural products from plants of environmental interest. My research group typically consists of about 5-8 students, with most of them being Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing students. As a faculty member at NTID, I am able to communicate in ASL.
